The Osaka Bay Area is currently progressing with the Expo 2025 Osaka-Kansai and the Integrated Resort (IR) project scheduled to open in 2030. This area is expected to grow significantly over the next decade as a leading international tourism and MICE hub in Western Japan. To contribute to the development of this area, the four MICE facilities aim, through this agreement, to go beyond mere economic collaboration. They will jointly address social responsibilities such as promoting environmentally sustainable events, advancing efforts towards achieving the SDGs, and co-developing unique venues. These efforts will help establish the Osaka Bay Area as a globally recognized and competitive MICE destination.
The Osaka Convention & Tourism Bureau participates as an observer in the Osaka Bay Area MICE, contributing to the MICE attraction strategy.
